Worcester Park is twenty-six and nine tenths of a mile from Heathrow, about thirty-seven minutes when the roads are clear. The journey runs out to the A3 and then round the M25, which means two major roads have to cooperate — and in the morning peak both carry the same commuter traffic heading for the same places.
This page gives the measured route, what decides the price of a booked car, and the charge on the journey that belongs to the airport rather than to us.
| Measure | Worcester Park to Heathrow |
|---|---|
| Road distance | 26.9 miles |
| Free-flowing drive time | about 37 minutes |
| Route | A3 out, then the M25 to the airport spur |
| Rail | no direct service — changes with luggage |
| Terminals | all four; Terminal 5 is the first you reach from the M25 |
Thirty-seven minutes assumes both roads are moving. The A3 northbound in the morning is slow by habit rather than by incident, and the M25 between the A3 junction and the airport is one of the most heavily used stretches in Britain. Either one can add half an hour by itself. A driver who works this corridor knows which is misbehaving before setting off; the alternatives through Kingston or further east along the M25 are judgements made in advance rather than from inside a queue.
Clocktower Cars is a licensed private hire operator rather than a hackney carriage firm, so every journey comes through the office as a booking — we cannot be flagged down and we do not work ranks. Because the office sees the whole journey first it can price it up front, so the agreed figure holds whatever the A3 and the M25 do on the day. A meter would keep earning while you sat in it.
Our drivers and vehicles are licensed across seven authorities — Epsom and Ewell, Reigate and Banstead, Mole Valley, Elmbridge, Guildford, Waverley and Transport for London — and the operator licence is held as Epsom & Ewell Cars T/A Clocktower Cars.
Nights, very early mornings, Sundays and public holidays cost more to staff, and most airport work from Worcester Park leaves before six. That hour also buys a quicker run, because neither road is loaded yet.
Four adults with four hold bags and four cabin bags do not fit in a saloon. An estate carries four with real boot space; six and eight-seaters carry groups. Golf clubs, ski bags, a pushchair, a bike in a box, a dog crate — each changes the car that is sent, so each needs declaring when you book.
On an arrival the pickup is set against the actual landing time, with a free grace period after landing for immigration and reclaim; waiting beyond it is chargeable.
Child seats, step-free access, a wheelchair, a pet travelling, an extra pickup in Stoneleigh or North Cheam on the way — all cheaper designed in than improvised. See our accessible taxi page.
Heathrow charges £7 for each entry into a terminal drop-off zone, 24 hours a day, every day of the year, at Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5, and re-entering triggers it again. It is the airport’s charge rather than a taxi firm’s, and we say when it applies. Source: Heathrow Airport — drop-off charge. Blue Badge holders can claim a full discount even when they are not driving, registered against the registration of the car bringing them.
Our cars do not carry card terminals, so bring cash if you have not paid in advance. The detail is on our pricing and payment methods page, and the reasoning behind quoting rather than publishing a rate card is in our guide to what actually decides a taxi price.
Twenty-six and nine tenths of a mile by road, about thirty-seven minutes in free-flowing traffic, out to the A3 and then round the M25 to the airport spur.
Work back from your airline’s bag-drop deadline, add the thirty-seven minutes, then add a margin for the A3 and the M25 — both of which carry commuter traffic in the morning peak. We set the departure against your check-in rather than the drive time.
It depends on the hour, the terminal, the vehicle your luggage needs and whether waiting or flight tracking is involved, so we quote each journey rather than publish a figure that would date. Call 01372 747 747 with the flight and the bag count.
No. Any rail route from Worcester Park means at least one change, usually two, with your luggage. For one traveller with a cabin bag that is workable; with hold bags or an early bag drop, a booked car door to door is the practical answer.
Yes. They are short runs out to the same main roads, booked and priced the same way. North Cheam has its own page for day-to-day local work.

Yes. For five to eight people one larger vehicle is usually cheaper than two cars and always simpler at the terminal. Tell us the passenger count and the bag count separately.
