Clocktower Cars runs a same day courier service out of the same eleven offices and the same fleet that run our taxi work. If something has to get from one address to another today — a document, a set of keys, a parcel, a box too awkward for the post — a licensed private hire car with a named driver will do it, and you will know who has it the whole way.
Phone the branch nearest the collection address and it can usually be moving within the hour. Epsom head office is on 01372 747 747; every branch number is further down this page.
Most courier searches in this area are for a same day courier rather than a next-day parcel service, and that is exactly the gap a taxi firm fills. A national carrier collects on a round and delivers tomorrow. We put one car on one job and drive it straight there. For anything where today matters, the difference is the whole point.
We cover Epsom, Ewell, West Ewell, Stoneleigh, Sutton, Cheam, North Cheam, Worcester Park, Carshalton, Wallington, Belmont, Banstead, Burgh Heath, Tadworth, Chipstead, Ashtead, Leatherhead, Bookham, Chessington, Surbiton, Kingston upon Thames, Morden, Reigate, Redhill, Dorking, Esher, Weybridge, Walton-on-Thames, Godalming, Guildford and Farnham — collection and delivery, in any direction, including runs out of the area to London and to the airports.
We are also regularly asked about collections just outside that list — Shepperton, Sunbury, Chertsey, Hampton and the Molesey side of the river. We do not claim those as home territory, but a courier job is a one-way drive rather than a patch, so phone and ask: the honest answer depends on where the car has to start from.
Worth being straight about this before you phone, because it saves everyone time.
We are a car-based courier, not a haulier. We do not move pallets, we are not a freight or cargo service, and we do not do international shipping — if you need any of those, a specialist will serve you better and we will say so on the phone. We also do not carry anything that cannot lawfully go in a licensed private hire vehicle. If you are not sure whether what you have fits, describe it and ask; the answer takes ten seconds.
Phone the branch nearest the collection address rather than the delivery address — that is where the car starts, so that is the office that can tell you honestly how soon it can be there. Give them the two addresses, what the item is, roughly how big and heavy, when it needs to arrive, and a contact name and number at each end.
You can also start it through the online booking form, but for a courier job a phone call is usually faster, because there are almost always two or three details worth confirming — who to ask for at reception, whether there is somewhere to stop outside, whether anyone needs to sign.
Courier jobs run on our live tracking system, the same one that runs the taxi work, so the office can tell you where the car is while it is in transit rather than guessing. When it is delivered the office can confirm it, and if you asked for a signature there is a signature. One car, one driver, one journey — nothing is tipped into a depot and sorted overnight, and there is no point at which nobody can say where your item is.
Not every delivery is an emergency, and we would rather not charge you as though it were. If it has to be there within the hour, say so and we will dedicate a car to it. If it simply needs to arrive today, tell the office that instead — they can often fit it around other work going the same way, which costs you less. Asking the question is worth doing every time.
Searches for courier services Surrey, couriers in Surrey, a Surrey courier or parcel delivery Surrey nearly all come down to one of three jobs, and it is worth knowing which one you have before you ring.
This is the bulk of it, and it is what a Surrey courier service built on cars does best. A document, a set of keys, a small box, going between two addresses inside the county or from the county into London. Short notice is normal and the answer is usually yes.
Still well within a courier service in Surrey, just a different vehicle. An estate or an MPV takes a surprising amount, and because we are quoting a car rather than a parcel band there is no awkward size tier to fall between. Tell the office the rough dimensions and it will pick the car.
Searches for cargo services Surrey or freight usually mean pallets, and that is not us. We will say so straight away rather than send a car that cannot do the job. A fast delivery in Surrey and a haulage movement are different trades and it does nobody any good to blur them.
It is an odd-sounding idea until you look at what a same day delivery actually needs, which is a vehicle, a driver who knows the roads, and someone answering a phone. We already have all three sitting in eleven towns.
A parcel network is efficient because it batches: your item travels with thousands of others through a depot. That is why it is cheap and why it takes a day or more. A courier booking with us is one car driving from A to B. Nothing is sorted, nothing is batched, nothing sits in a warehouse overnight.
Our drivers spend all day on the A24, the A217, the A3 and the roads into Kingston and Guildford, and they know which of them is moving at four o’clock on a Friday. On a time-critical delivery inside Surrey that local knowledge is worth more than anything a routing algorithm will tell you.
If something changes — the recipient has gone out, the address was wrong, it needs to go somewhere else instead — you ring the branch and speak to the person who booked it, and they can speak to the driver. That is a very different experience from a tracking page and a chatbot.
Every car is a licensed private hire vehicle and every driver holds a private hire licence from the council for their area, which means an enhanced DBS check with both barred lists before that licence is granted or renewed. For a sensitive document or a set of property keys, knowing exactly who is carrying it matters. You can read more about our drivers on the drivers page, and the difference between private hire and a hackney carriage is set out in our minicab versus black cab comparison.
The same four things that set a taxi fare set a courier fare, because it is the same car and driver for a block of time.
We quote rather than publish a price list, for the same reason we do not publish taxi fares: a table would have to assume a town-centre pickup, a small item and an off-peak hour, and would then be wrong for most people reading it. Phone with the two addresses and what you are sending and you get a fixed price for your actual job, usually inside a minute. Our guide to how UK fares are worked out explains the mechanics if you want the background.
Most of our courier work is for local businesses rather than one-off senders: solicitors and conveyancers moving paperwork, estate and letting agents moving keys, surveyors and architects moving drawings, retailers getting something to a customer the same day, and offices sending things between their own sites.
For any of that, an account is the sensible arrangement: no card at the door, anyone in your office can book a collection without handling payment, and you get one itemised statement for the period instead of chasing receipts. Open one through the account application. The same account covers airport transfers, executive cars and our corporate chauffeur service, so it is one relationship rather than four.
If the same run happens often — a daily bag between two offices, a weekly drop to the same client, keys back from the same agent every Friday — it can be set up as a standing booking, the same way we handle a school run. You agree the days and times once and the car simply turns up. It is cheaper than booking it fresh each time and nobody has to remember to call.
Courier work is dispatched from the branch nearest the collection, so the town you are collecting from decides which office you want. Each town below also has its own page covering local pickup points and routes.

We have written separately about same day couriers in Surrey and about same day delivery by minicab. The vehicle options page shows what sizes are available, and the FAQs cover general booking questions. If you are sending something that travels with a person rather than alone, our pet friendly and wheelchair accessible services are separate pages.
Yes — same day is the main thing we do. One car collects and drives straight to the delivery address, so there is no depot and no overnight sort. Phone the branch nearest the collection address and in most cases a car can be on its way within the hour.
Yes. Ewell collections are dispatched from our Ewell West office on 0208 330 5555, with Epsom head office a few minutes away on 01372 747 747 as backup. Because both are local, Ewell is one of the quickest areas we cover for a short-notice collection.
Documents, small parcels, keys, drawings and plans, delicate items, and larger or bulkier boxes using an estate or MPV. What we do not do is pallets, freight or international shipping — we are a car-based courier, not a haulier. Describe what you have when you phone and you will get a straight yes or no.
It depends on the distance, the time of day, the size of vehicle and how urgent it is, so we quote rather than publish a table. Give the office the two addresses and what you are sending and you will have a fixed price in about a minute.
Yes. Courier jobs run on the same live tracking system as our taxi work, so the office can tell you where the car is while it is in transit, and confirm the delivery afterwards. If you ask for a signature at the point of booking, the driver will get one.
Usually, yes — and it is worth saying so. A dedicated car leaving now is the dearest version. If the item simply needs to arrive today, the office can often fit it around other work heading the same way, which costs less. Ask the question every time.
Yes. A courier job is a one-way drive rather than a patch, so we regularly run into London, out to the airports and further afield. Collection has to be somewhere we can get a car to quickly, so the collection address matters more than the delivery address.
Yes, if you ask when you book. Tell us a name at the delivery end and whether a signature is needed, and the driver will get it from that person rather than leaving the item with whoever happens to be at reception.
Yes, and the reverse, and business to business. Most of our courier work is local firms — solicitors moving paperwork, agents moving keys, surveyors moving drawings — but there is nothing stopping a one-off private booking.
Yes, and for a business sending anything regularly it is much simpler: nobody handles payment at the door, anyone in your office can book a collection, and you get one itemised statement for the period. Apply through our account application page.
Yes. A repeating collection can be set up as a standing booking the way a school run is — agree the days and times once and the car turns up without anyone having to ring. It also costs less than booking each one fresh.
No. We are a courier service built on cars, so anything needing a van with a tail lift, a pallet network or a customs process is outside what we do. A specialist haulier will serve you better and we will tell you so rather than taking the booking.
In our own towns, usually within the hour and often sooner, because the cars are already out working. The honest answer depends on where the nearest free car is at that moment, which is exactly what the branch can tell you when you ring.
Yes — airport runs are routine for us, so a document or parcel going to someone at a terminal, or collected from an arriving passenger, is an ordinary booking. Mention the terminal and the flight if there is one.
Phone the branch nearest the collection address with the two addresses, what you are sending and when it needs to arrive. Epsom head office is on 01372 747 747, or start online with the booking form. For anything needed in the next hour, phone rather than book online.
